Changing tabs colors to custom ones

good morning, i don’t know where i’m getting wrong… but i can’t change tabs background or font color.

for example i tried this
[tab_title pair=”tab1″ active=”yes” style=” background-color:#000 !important;”]
and didn’t work

tried with class
[tab_title pair=”tab2″ css_class=”quarta”]

(took this fron inspection) li.quarta a { background-color:#000 !important;}

and didn’t work.

i tried to override main-options color css, but couldn’t do…

i need to make each tab button of a different color…

can you help me?
