page headline removal with Featured Image

Hello,
I see how I can get rid of the page headline by checking the “Show Custom Taglines” box and leaving it blank.
The problem I am getting is that I have a featured image I want to use and when I have the custom tagline box checked, along with the “Use the featured image as a background for the Taglines area,” the featured image doesn’t show up, but the page headline is gone.
