We tried to keep the MegaMenu functionality simple, without too many unnecessary options, so this seemed to be the most suitable and intuitive way for people familiar with the native WordPress menu handling knowledge.

I just had to create a sublink that automatically appears as a column. I can then use this as a text field or with links. And it can be tweaked again via the custom CSS.
