First of all sorry for the longer response time. We were out of office as it was a national holiday on Monday.

It works differently in Boldial as the Custom Post Types are in a separate plugin. Please check this topic:

Change the portfolio URL slug?

Cheers

(I’m using Boldial)

Thank you!

Yes, the for zip files should be:

1. demo-content
2. documentation
3. zimney
4. zimney-child

The theme that can be installed through WordPress is zimney.zip the instructions are inside documentation.zip. You should extract documentation’s contents. If you are not sure how to do it you might want to google this “how to extract zip file windows 7”. Once done open the READ_ME.html file in a web-browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer…). The instructions on how to update the theme can be read here.

We see you have already installed the theme once so you should already know how to do it. Feel free to get back to us if you face any difficulties.

This is right! There is a special tool to search and replace in WordPress DB that handles the serialization as well.

https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/

Moreover you could use the Backup Export/Import feature in theme options (One of last tabs) from the old installation to the new one. Then simply fix the “images” which need url changes.

I guess you used a custom link. But if you have a page called Services, you can remove the custom link from the menu and add the page to the menu which will automatically link to the existing page.

So in your case, as you already have quite a lot of content you don’t need to import them as you will have many unnecessary pages in between the ones you already have.

You have Zimney v1.0 but the latest one is v1.1 which ensured compatibility with WordPress 3.9. This is the reason why there are no shortcodes buttons.

Please go to your marketplace again, download all Zimney files and follow the instructions in the documentations on how to update existing Zimney installation.

the demo data xml file is used to be imported into WordPress in order to have the same pages and content as in our live preview. To know how to do this you need to open the documentation folder and open the html file in a browser then read the “First Steps” section which will guide you through the process of installing WordPress, Zimney theme, importing the demo data content and setting up all menus and necessary parts.

We have no video or audio tutorial at this time that would explain how to work with WordPress and the theme.

Copy the the Zimney_options value from the table wp_options (its like on page 5 when using phpMyAdmin).

Copy that code exactly into the new database in the same place of course. Then save that and login into your wordpress check out your theme options. All you have to change are the favicon urls. The rest will be fine.

My issue I described above was caused by the fact that the zimney_options was serialized. You cannot change those options without de-serializing them first.
