Can you help out to solve this one?

The problem is that your Admin area is under HTTP Authentication. Since the page uses AJAX and the standard way of using ajax in WordPress is via the following script:

https://meetcollaborators.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

This opens the credentials window. You need to make sure this script will not be under HTTP Auth.

Here we have found some info on how to fix it. It’s in the bottom of the article. Just search the word “ajax”.

Unfortunately it didnt work and now the whole website is down with this message:

So after I changed back to the original .htaccess file the web was working but still asking for that Authentication.

Thanks for pasting it here. This will help other users if they have the same problem. As mentioned in previous reply, do you need to have the admin section under HTTP Authentication? Are you using a security plugin for that or is it a setting in your hosting provider’s panel? If you turn it off everything will work as it should.
