Was wondering if you could help. I am trying to add some custom icons via fontello. I think I followed your instructions correctly, but when I go to select a new icon, the Fontello section has all blank tiles. I have a screen shot of where the Fontello folder is structured within my WP folder as well as an image of the problem.

Please clear your browser’s cache memory to re-load the new javascript and styles.

P.S. Please use a child theme as the icons will be lost on the next theme and plugin update if they are copied directly inside the plugin’s folder.

Sorry, this suggestion did not work. I deleted cached files, reset my caches in Safari and restarted the wordpress server and browser…none had any effect. I am still seeing blank tiles. Do you have another suggestion?

Aren’t there any error messages in the JS Console or 404 error in the Network tab of developer tools?

Currently, I have the Fontello folder at wp-content/plugins/ishyoboy-no8-assets/ishyoboy-shortcodes/fontello

If I was going to attempt putting it into the child theme (which is in fact the them I am using), where would I put the fontelo folder within the folder structure? There is no folder with a name such as wp-content/plugins/ishyoboy-no8-CHILD-assets/ishyoboy-CHILD-shortcodes/fontello

Please advise, thanks.

It’s a child theme not a child plugin ;) Your child theme would therefore be located in:
wp-content/themes/no8-child/

You will manually have to create a set of folders inside it as suggested in the icons addition instructions so you would have:
wp-content/themes/no8-child/ish-plugins/ishyoboy-shortcodes/fontello/

There you should have the unzipped files so, “config.json”, “css” folder, “font folder”…

The child theme however needs to be active in order to see any results. Also please remove the fontello folder from your plugin, as you have it now, to avoid any problems related to the files being inside the plugin.
