Blog as home page w/o header

Hi,

I want my 1st page (after you enter http://www.chumbajamba.lt) would be this site https://chumbajamba.lt/blog/ —> how to make it?

Default settings is like this – they give 2 different pages, and i cannot make them the same one: settings —> reading —> Front page displays -> Static page -> front page = home, posts = blog.

If I change to settings —> reading —> Front page displays -> your latest posts
all is good except I get extra additional header (like 5 ch wide, black with my site title). This header is the problem, which i would like to remove. Where can I edit/remove this part?

If you look now to https://chumbajamba.lt/blog/ there is no additional header.

Hi Lukas,

Thanks for the detailed explanation. First of all please set the setting under “Settings -> Reading” to “Your latest posts”. Please note this means there is no physical page so a template for all posts will be used.

Now please copy the following file from your parent theme to the root of the child theme (there’s a starter one we provide along with the main theme files)

wp-content\themes\boldial\home.php

Now edit the file in the child theme and you should see something like this:

We need to comment out the code inside the “else” branch

So the final result would be:

You can also remove the breadcrumbs but then make sure to add them to the branch before the “else” as that is used when the “Settings -> Reading” is set to a specific page, not the latest posts and you want that page’s settings to work if you ever decide to change this in the future.

Now just upload your child theme and activate it.
