Blog Overview Page – how to choose what category is displayed?

great theme glad i bought it.

couple of questions:

1. is it possible to choose what categories are shown on the blog post page? (i.e. this one – https://themes.ishyoboy.com/kopy/blog/)

2. is it possible to resize the posts on that blog post page, some are too thin for my photos

Hey Danny,

You have to modify the main loop to manage that. It needs to be done the standard WordPress way as the theme uses the standard WordPress way of displaying the Blog. The template which controls it in the theme is “home.php”.

Maybe check this article or even google a little for how to modify the main wordpress loop to show posts from one category only.

To resize the posts’ height you can use a little custom CSS to control the padding. right now it is set to 150px.

.ish-blog-masonry.ish-blog-masonry-layout-grid-boxes[data-count="2"]
.ish-blog-post-masonry>.ish-blog-post-content>div {
	padding: 250px;
}

.ish-blog-masonry.ish-blog-masonry-layout-grid-boxes[data-count="2"]

padding: 250px;

}

You can add this code to the “Custom CSS” field available under “Theme Option -> General Options”

Is it possible to have the blog masonry posts line up like on the category pages?

Sorry, to explain.

Is it possible to have the blog posts on the two column blog page all have the same width and height and line up into a grid – rather than being differently sized and staggered.

Also I’m afraid I’m struggling to update that loop to show only specific. Could you help me with that?

Hey Danny,

You can access the items via CSS and set their min-height to be the same (not height as on smaller devices they might need to be smaller) or then add a media query to control the height in the mobile devices as well.
