Me again, thanks for your quick support always. I am a new WordPress user so still learning.

On my blog posts, I set the content to three quarters because I have a full width theme set and 1290pc wide. So the paragraphs are too long and I have put them into [three_quarters]. But when it is 3/4, the original social share buttons that came with the template plus the older/newer post buttons end up at the 1/4 right side (between 3/4 and my right sidebar). When I have addtoany social share buttons installed it manages to pull down and appear at the bottom.

If there a shortcode or setting to adjust so that no buttons or content appear at the 1/4 side? I can’t find the html or php for this blog post template.

here is the link. Now there is no buttons on the 1/4 side because I am using addtoany but I want to change the social share plugin to another which causes the buttons to show on the 1.4 side.

Hope you understand what I am saying if not I will email you a picture.

Thanks!

The templates for all blog post formats can be found in the files named content-post-*.php

in those files you’ll find the following lines:

You might want to wrap then in a div element like the one below:

Please note, you will have to replicate the change in all “content-post-*.php” files.

P.S. We recommend using a child theme to make the changes rather than modifying the original theme files. Otherwise they will be overwritten with the next theme update. You can simply copy all files into the root of your child theme (a starter one is provided by us in the zip folder from ThemeForest) and modify them in there. Please note you might have set your main menu navigation again to appear in the header as this will be deactivated on child theme activation.

Hope it solved your problem and all it’s left now is to write and share your thoughts and notices with the world ;)

P.S.: Maybe it’s a better idea to wrap the whole content in a

inside the template files instead of putting it manually in every single blog post ;)

You will appreciate this decision one day, trust us! ;)

Thanks, I have wrapped the whole content into the child theme and removed the [three_fourths] from visual editor. Its more custom to my preference now. Thank you!

I have also set the same grid9 to my pages but had to set it with one_fourth so that the sidebar appears. Everything is working now and future proof. If only grid9 code for content, sidebar doesn’t show. If I put grid3 for sidebar, it appears too thin.

Appreciate and I love this theme!

Not sure to understand the part about pages and sidebar. Could you please explain it again with some examples maybe?

Anyway what is the reason behind having the content in 3/4ths of the default area? Have you considered changing the width of the page in theme options?

Cheers

The reason I limit to 3/4 page (or narrower text column) is because I wanted to keep to the readability column width of 50-75 words. Any longer and usually its hard to read. But I also want to keep the website to widescreen for a more latest look. Since its responsive I need not worry about mobile view.

I may decide to use 960px for page in theme options as it will solve all problems. But prefer widescreen… I tried changing php child code for sidebar to 4 grid and it becomes bigger. But the side bar column end up going to bottom of page even though I also changed the page.php to grid8. Tried with 1/3 and 2/3 also, sidebar goes to bottom…

cheers

I get it.

To make it grid8 + grid4 you can do the following cahnges:

1. Override the content class function:

Change grid9 to grid8.

2. Change all php files starting with sidebar. (sidebar*.php):

Make sure to change the grid3 class to grid4 in all files.

This should fix it ;)

Did you define it elsewhere or am I supposed to put in the code into functions?
