Can't select image from the media library via Visual Page Composer

Hi there,

I’m using the Boldial theme, specifically trying to upload my logo via the theme options and then add images to sliders via Visual Page Composer.

When I try to upload an image it takes forever. If I give up and navigate elsewhere, then to the library, I can see that the upload worked.

However, when I try to add an image already in the library, I just get a little grey spinning circle – none of the images in the library are available to be selected no matter how long I wait.

I’m on the latest version of WordPress and all plugins etc are up to date. Is it just me this problem is affecting and can you help fix it? I bought particularly due to the comments around fast set up time, but this has swallowed hours so far… :-(

I found the problem – it seems there was a conflict with Soliloquy Slider of some kind.

After deactivating all Soliloquy modules the media library functionality sprung back into life!

Would be interesting to find out if this is a known issue – I haven’t used the 2 bundled sliders before but assume they’re just as good? If so I suppose I should just uninstall Soliloquy and use one of yours?

Hey Lee,

The conflict with “Soliloquy Slider” is not known. Maybe it generates a JavaScript Error which breaks all further functionality. It happens often with third-party plugins which are not coded perfectly.

Revolution Slider and Layer Slider are amazing commercial sliders and once you try them out you will love them ;)

For simple sliding you can use the “Slider” shortcode as well.

Hey,

The Slider in the link you mentioned is also Revolution slider. It comes with a lot of examples that you can import and try. It is not that complex actually, you create a few slides, you then add the necessary content and set the transitions.

I think the slider you are working on fits the theme much better! The other one would be too formal for the “funky” look Boldial provides. We think it looks great so far!
