Hi how can I do to change the language in Italian? I translated everything with the program poedit and I loaded the file it_IT.po and it_IT.mo both the original theme that the child theme, language in the folder, but does not change how come?

Hey,

is the default WordPress language set to Italian?

Also please note you will have to translate the language for the plugin as well.

maybe I explained badly, wordpress is all in Italian, is the theme that is not Italian, and I want to insert language in the child theme but is not called as I do?

Hey,

If you edit the child theme’s “functions.php” file you will find this code commented out:

/**
 * Setup My Child Theme's textdomain.
 *
 * Declare textdomain for this child theme.
 * Translations can be filed in the /languages/ directory.
 */
function no8_child_theme_setup() {
	load_child_theme_textdomain( 'no8-child', get_stylesheet_directory() . '/language' );
}
add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'no8_child_theme_setup' );

/**

* Setup My Child Theme's textdomain.

* Declare textdomain for this child theme.

* Translations can be filed in the /languages/ directory.

function no8_child_theme_setup() {

load_child_theme_textdomain( 'no8-child', get_stylesheet_directory() . '/language' );

}

add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'no8_child_theme_setup' );

Uncomment if and maybe change the ‘no8-child’ domain name to ‘ishyoboy’ just use:

load_child_theme_textdomain( 'ishyoboy', get_stylesheet_directory() . '/language' );

I try to changed in:

and in:

load_child_theme_textdomain( 'ishyoboy', get_stylesheet_directory() . '/lingua' );

but notting happened…

Hey Enrico,

Are your PO/MO files in the folder called “lingua” or “language” inside the child theme?

Could you please also paste the whole code? With the function as well?
