Is there a way to shrink the image size of the featured images in the blog so they appear smaller? I want it to be closer to my current version.

This needs some code changes in the files where the HTML is generated. The files are located in the root directory of the theme and are called:

You can modify the HTML to output the parts into two div containers with some class names specified and the style them to be next to each other via CSS.
