Your approach is correct. Create a [row] with 4 x [one_fourth] inside. Then add the [box] or any other shortcode you need. To also add an image just select “Add Media” button and make sure to select the right size of the image before adding it into the code.

The featured image metabox on the right hand side column in the administration is mostly for Blog and Portfolio Posts.

We recommend taking 10-15 minutes and playing around with the shortcode buttons of the visual editor. The 4 buttons marked with yellow dot. See what each shortcode does and how you can combine them to create the desired output.

What’s the best image width for 4 rows? In pixels?

If you inspect the columns having your current page’s width, the width of each column is around 263px. The best way is to upload full-size images (at least 1150px) to WordPress and let it create all the versions it needs. Once done. Just choose the correct size before adding the image to the content. If you choose bigger image size it’s okay as it will never get bigger than the grid is.

I’ve added a button under the image. With no box. Is there a way I can make the button stretch to the width of the Column?
