Is it possible to disable the LEAD SECTION when I am accessing CATEGORIES(POSTS)? If yes can i do this in the child THEME so not to have problems with the updates that you send.

Yes you can. The categories are using the archive.php file (it is also used for tags, archives, etc..) you can copy it to your child theme and make the changes inside. modify the code inside the is_category() block.
