Enabling Custom Fields on Portfolio Items

Hi,
Great theme.
How do I add ‘Custom Field’ support to portfolio item posts? They show up on normal posts but not portfolio items.

Hi there!

Thank you very much! We’re happy to see you guys like it!

You are right, the Custom Fields are not enabled by default. To enable them please use a child theme (E.g. The starter one we provide along with the theme). Using a child theme will prevent losing the changes when you next update the parent theme as the child-theme will remain untouched.

In functions.php of the child theme please add the following code:

function my_change_portfolio_supports( $supports ){

	// Add Custom Fields support for portfolio items
	$supports[] = 'custom-fields';

	return $supports;
}
add_filter( 'ish_cpt_plugin_portfolio_post_type_supports', 'my_change_portfolio_supports' );

function my_change_portfolio_supports( $supports ){

// Add Custom Fields support for portfolio items

$supports[] = 'custom-fields';

return $supports;

}

add_filter( 'ish_cpt_plugin_portfolio_post_type_supports', 'my_change_portfolio_supports' );

Once done, upload and activate the child theme. This will enable the fields in the back-end. Hope this helps ;)
