I am trying to install MultiCorp Assets plugin and I keep getting the same error: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

All other plugins installed without a problem. Any pointers?

How exactly are you trying to install the plugin? Did you install the Multicorp theme successfully before? Maybe try removing the plugin completely from the Plugins list – de-activating it and deleting it and then follow the instructions in the documentation regarding the installation of the assets plugin.

Also, the limit for file uploads might be too low and the file bigger than the limit so you may need to increase it.

I then setup a WP Multisite – on a separate new clean install of WP v4.3.1 – and I got the error.

I now have it setup correctly on WP v4.2 with MultiSite enabled. Hopefully that wouldn’t break. I had to first install WP, configure and install the theme+plugins. Then I enable WP Network and setup MultiSite. I activated the plugins and didn’t get any errors. It doesn’t seem to work when you install the theme after you’ve setup MultiSite.

Something you should probably look at.

The work-around is to:
– install single site WP,
– install themes and all plugins,
– activate child theme
– deactivate all plugins,
– enable and configure multisite, and
– activate plugins

Enabling multisite before installing themes+plugins gives an error.

Tested on WP v4.2.4 and v4.3.1
Applies to the Multicorp 1.4 WP theme.

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. We have tested it deeply and must unfortunately admit that there IS a problem as you explained.

This problem is caused by a third-party library – TGM-Plugin-Activation, which helps you install bundled or third-party plugins. Unfortunately there was a bug in the code which caused the behaviour you mentioned.

Updating the library will solve the problem. The new code can be downloaded from here:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/TGMPA/TGM-Plugin-Activation/master/class-tgm-plugin-activation.php

You just need to replace the old file inside the theme with the one from the link above. The old file can be found inside the theme on this path:
wp-content/themes/multicorp/assets/framework/wp/includes/class-tgm-plugin-activation.php

This change will be part of the next theme update, so this problem will not be available anymore.
