Love the theme! I looked in the document as well as here but didn’t see any mention of favicon. Not sure if I’m missing something or what but how can I add a favicon to my site?

this functionality was added by WordPress into WP Customizer.
You can set your favicon here:
“Appearance -> Customize -> Site Identity”

This is the standard WordPress way of creating a favicon. You can edit the header.php file and add it manually. We recommend using bigger image (as WordPress suggests) as different devices use different image sizes and your 16×16 icon will look awful on retina devices like iPad, etc..
