I’m trying to change a bit the single portfolio template so it will display the featured image full width above the content (like in page templates) and keep all portfolio layout intact (with sidebar and all).
How is that possible?

This can easily be controlled from the back-end. Just ensure to set a featured image and to enable it in the Taglines area:
no8_portfolio_single_settings

The Template which displays the portfolio single is:
no8/single-portfolio-post.php

You can amend it to display anything you need. The taglines are are currently displayed using the following function “ishyoboy_get_part_tagline” which is located inside:
no8/assets/framework/wp/options/custom-functions.php

You can create your own copy in your child theme, override the “single-portfolio-post.php” file in your child theme and make it use your function instead of the general one.
