I need to install fontello symbol into folder inside the child theme root.
I can’t find “child theme root”.

How can I do?

First of all if you have never used a child theme, make sure you read this topic so you have a basic idea what the child theme is https://support.ishyoboy.com/forums/topic/what-is-a-child-theme-and-how-but-mainly-why-to-use-it/

We do provide a pre-made starer child theme theme within the zip file you downloaded from your marketplace. The “root” means the folder of the child theme itself where the “functions.php” and “style.css” files are located. Here is an example with NO8 theme files:

P.S. once you do the change you need, make sure to upload the child theme to WordPress and activate it.

I followed all your instructions correctly but after I have uploaded updated theme child and have activated it, I don’t find new fontello symbol between icon list…

Could you please create an Admin account for us to log in and investigate. You can do this in WordPress Administration under Users > Add New.

Once user created, please provide the following:

1. Admin URL Link where we can log in
2. Admin Username
3. Admin Password

The reason why it is not working is because there is one more folder inside “fontello” folder called “fontello-c6413cf7”. It should not be there. Inside the “fontello” folder you should have the contents of “fontello-c6413cf7” meaning the “config.json”, “css” and “font” folders, etc..

I have seen, however, that if I install a new font, the content is overwritten and the symbol I had installed disappears. I tried to create two folders with the names of the two fonts installed, but it does not appear in either one or the other.

You can use the “config.json” to import your icons selection to fontello, then add more icons and export it again. Only one additional font is supported.

We recommend only adding the icons you need in addition to the ones provided in the theme. Right now we see a lot of duplicities. Fontello allows you to select only the icons you need. So instead of adding 300 icon from which 280 are the same as ours, just add the missing 20 ;)

I would have another question to be submitted: the management of the blog.
I realized that by inserting new posts it updates the preview in home page but I would also like that by clicking on the “blog” menu item, the user will see all the articles as they are published.
