How do I get this to display on my main portfolio page?

Thank you in advance!
Cathy

Just create the page and add a “Portfolio” page element (if it exists, just remove it and add it again) from the Builder. Now explore all its options. In its settings there is an option to either display a filter or not.

Also Make sure to check this answer in case you are showing items only from a given category:

Category Filters not working in Portfolio

Hope this helps. Let us know.

I have this working now. One more thing to add to this…

Can you tell me if the following is possible? I would like for the user, after they click on a portfolio item and it displays larger in a pop-up window, for arrows to appear on the image that allows them to go to the next or previous item within that portfolio. (without needing to exit out of that image in order to see a new one)

Thanks again!
Cathy

If I understand it correctly you would like to have a “Portfolio” placed in a page. It will display, let’s say 4 items. When you click on an item it displays what? The featured image or the gallery inside?

1. If featured image only, when you open pop-up and click next it will go through all item’s featured images.

2. If gallery is set, when you open pop-up and click next it will go through all images within the gallery of this current item.

I understand it that you want option 2 but after it reaches the last image within the gallery of the currently opened window, to continue to the gallery of the next item instead of staying within the current one only.

This is however only possible by modifying PHP files and via child theme. If you feel like going into it, let us know and we can suggest next steps.

Cheers

Yes, I am looking for #2 – I have a page where I am displaying a portfolio that contains 4 categories that they will be able to display all or filter. When they click on an item and it pops up an image, I would love for them to be able to either go to the next image within the same category, or within the entire portfolio as a whole (if that makes sense… the “display all” feature essentially).

See these images as examples –

I think I have the correct settings selected (as you described) that sounds like it should allow the user to move from one image to another from the same portfolio category within the pop-up, but, as you can see, is still only displaying one item at a time (with no “arrow” or user control being displayed so they can go to the next or previous image).

Now, having typed this out, I am seeing that you used the word “gallery”, whereas I technically haven’t created a “gallery”, rather I’m hoping this feature of moving from one image to the next can also occur because of the items sharing a similar “portfolio category”.

If it is possible or basically the same thing, then my next question is – can you take a look at my settings to see if I’m not selecting the incorrect item and/or causing two opposing items to cancel each other out?

Thanks again for all of your help on this!

What does a single “portfolio item” represent? Just one image or a detail page where you have used “Image Gallery” shortcode to display more images of this same item?

From the screenshots it seems each Portfolio item represents one image. Therefore do not select “Portfolio Gallery Images” but choose the featured image. this will connect all items.

The “Portfolio Gallery Images” is meant to open the images from the “Gallery” page element within the details of the item. E.g. The category well be “People” the name of the single item will be “Christmas Baby” and in it’s content you will add a gallery of 20 babies on Christmas. The next portfolio item will be let’s say Businessmen and inside of it you will have 50 pictures gallery of different men.

Each portfolio item represents one image.

I’ve gone into the settings and made the change you recommended, and while it does make one image “link” to another image within the pop-up, it has now messed up how the main page is displayed.

Hopefully these screenshots will help illustrate what I’m describing…
https://inthelittle.com/images/example-5.png (showing the setting change to now display featured image)
https://inthelittle.com/images/example-6.png (showing how the portfolio homepage now looks after this change)
https://inthelittle.com/images/example-7.png (this is of the page with the text highlighted… you can see that it’s displaying the images in this fashion now (these are clickable so that the pop-up appears)

Any idea what might be going on?

Thanks for your time!
Cathy

Do the portfolio items have featured images set?

We just tracked down the problem and fixed it inside the “IshYoBoy Multicorp Assets” plugin. This problem will be fixed in the next update.

Sorry for the inconvenience! Hope all is working as expected now.

Cheers
