The globe icon, how can i use it as a linkable menu? I want each language to point to a different install. How does it work with WPML?

Hi there,

WPML is used in order to have 4 languages within the same install. So it is not recommended for what you are trying to do.

To create the globe menu you have 2 options.

1. Via regular WP Menu

Create a menu with sub-menu links for each install and set the icon for the parent menu item to be globe. You will have to replicate the menu in each install. To set the icon please read this post:

2. Using a Child theme

You can use a child-theme to hook into the menu and create a “fake” menu using WordPress filters. Here is how we create the “demo” language selector for the live preview page:

1. What is the code for the globe icon?
2. Any way to set it the same as in your demo without WPML to be at the far corner without modifying the child theme?
3. I currently don’t have WPML, once it’s installed does the theme setup the links automatically to each language and the globe menu appears?

Hey,

1. To get the icon class please add an “icon” element using the page builder in any page. Once the pop-up window shows up you have a list of icons. When you move the mouse over the icon you want a class name will show up in a bubble. You can also inspect our live demo to see the icon class name ;)

2. Yes, see previous answer and point 1. We have fixed the link in it so make sure to check it.

3. Yes it does, you however need to enable the language selector through Theme Options. Please not that WPML is for a single multilingual install. So the same page can be available in multiple languages. It will not redirect you to a different URL.
