I have gone through your theme files and can’t seem to delete the part where you give your website name credit on my website’s social media post. I have changed <meta name=”author” content=”creativeground.com”> in header.php and refresh fb cache also have removed this and still its showing creativeground.com | BY ISHYOBOY.COM on my post feeds. I have edits my description to make sure fb cache is being refresh and that is working. I’m trying to run fb adverts and I have | BY ISHYOBOY.COM on my adverts. I have also removed the <meta name=”author”…. and refresh fb cache but still your website name is showing up. How do I remove this? I need to run a campaign.

Glad you have solved it. The reason might have also been the caching plugin that is activated on the page. This could have caused the problem. Make sure to always empty the cache (cached pages by the plugin) when you make such changes.

Best way is to create a child theme that way when you need to update your theme you won’t need to re-edit the header.php part.
Here is the link for the fb debug tool to fresh their cache of your website
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

After you clear their cache for your site, I have found in some cases it can still take up to an hour before fb has totally refreshed its cache. I also found that if you use a short link url that you haven’t used before you will get the latest feed and be able to test if your edit has worked.

But if you want to keep it simple then go to header.php and change below or just remove it
<meta name=”author” content=”Put Your Details Here”>
then run the fb debug tool. But remember if you update the theme this will get over written.
