I have some issues with the translation of the theme. some parts are not translating like the button “read more” or the words at the end of the blog “share this” or the form at the end of the blog “your name, your email , your web page” . I’ve installed my wordpress in spanish, but still need to fix this specifics.

Can you tell me wich files do i need to modify? (wich lines of code if possible)

Thanks in advance

There are quite a few options how to do it. The theme is not translated by default to any language but you can use the theme and the plugin PO/MO files to translate it:

Translate front end only

The language files are located in the theme directory in the folder called “language”. You can use the free”Poedit Aplication” to translate the words. First you need to duplicate the en_US.po and en_US.mo, rename them to your language (es_ES.po/.mo) and then edit them with the application and find the strings you want to be translated. Once done, save it and WordPress should use the file.

I manage to change the search… words editing php files (searchform.php, etc) i was wondering if the same can be done for read more buttons and blog comments fields. Please check on my website (https://www.fluocardent.com/)

Could you please explain in detail how exactly you translated the theme & assets plugin? As, we’ve tried it locally and all works as expected. Did you translate all strings in the translation files?

Regarding the “Share This” string it comes from a third-party plugin so make sure to translate it in it.

We see the read more buttons are now translated and the fields about name, email, etc as well.. Do you still need help with them? If yes, please provide the exact URL where we can see the texts so we can suggest how to translate them.

Cheers

I used the po edit and it worked for the las version of the boldial template i had. Today iv’e updated the template only to find that the translation i’ve done is lost. still i had the back up .PO and .MO files from the back up of the previous boldial version but they do not take effect with the translation.

Translating this theme is really difficult and it takes a lot of time. please help me out. what am i doing wrong or not doing. I paste the es_ES.PO and .MO files in themes/boldial/language and also in the boldial-child/languages

You did it correctly. The problem must be elsewhere. Maybe check if the default language of your WordPress is correctly set in wp-config.php (the WP_LANG) variable.

If all worked fine before the update there should be no reason for the translation to stop working. Make sure all is set correctly in the files.
