I am trying to build a Style 1 Portfolio page (masonry style). I cannot figure it out.

I have embedded this short code for Portfolio Style 1 into a “new portfolio item” page

[portfolio category=”” order=”DESC” navigation=”yes” pagination=”yes” view_all=”no”]

Problem # 1
> I am only able to set only 1 featured image. How do I have multiple images in this portfolio ? The box above “featured image” that allows you to select multiple images does not display the images on the page after selecting them.

Problem # 2
> The one featured image that does show up is entitled the same as the portfolio item title which is not how the Style 1 Portfolio sample page is.

Problem # 3
> the categories appear however when pressed it navigates me to a “cateogry page” when it should only be a filter. :/

What am I doing wrong? :(

The code of the “Style 1” page is:

#1 Each portfolio item allows only one featured image which is used on the “front” meaning when the portfolio shortcode is used on any page.

#2 I guess this is related to the shortcode attributes. Please get “inspiration” from the code we provided.

#3 This is again related to the attribute animate_filter="yes".

Please open the documentation and read about all “Portfolio” Attributes. There is an explanation for each one.

Cheers

I stated that I “you can only have 1 featured image” – so yes I already know that.

Lets focus on my my BIGGEST QUESTION

How do I get multiple images on a portfolio page?

I am trying desperately to recreate a masonry design portfolio like the sample you show on your live preview here >>>

Portfolio Style 1

Are those just multiple portfolios on 1 page? I am confused.
I need step by step. Ugh I’m sorry

Thank you

We have provided the complete code of the mentioned page in the reply above.
Each image in this page is a separate portfolio item which you can create from the back-end and set its image. Then create a new page called portfolio, add the code we shared (maybe just leave the category="" empty and it will display each of the portfolio items you created.

Maybe what you are looking for is more a gallery rather than portfolio. A portfolio is meant that each item has own “permalink” (page containing the details of this given portfolio item) where you can read more about it. But in this particular case it shows the image instead.

To get multiple images in the detail of one portfolio item use the portfolio gallery as suggested in the documentation file that came with the theme and then use the “Portfolio Gallery” to place it somewhere inside the detail of the portfolio. It will display the images from the “Portfolio Gallery” box above the featured image box.

Hope this explains it. By the way, have you read the section “Portfolio – Creation and Editing” in the documentation file?

Cheers
