When I add the link in the VC, it comes back as undefined (see screenshot), and doesn’t work after the changes have been saved. If I manually add the link to the code in the wordpress editor, it works as it should. Not a huge deal, but do you have any ideas why it isn’t working within the VC?

It says undefined. I am trying to upload the new update so I downloaded the theme again from themeforest and I can’t find the file that gives instructions on uploading the update. Will this update make the links work?

This problem was solved long time ago and yes, the latest theme version will resolve it. Please always keep the theme and plugins in their latest versions.

Download the “All files & Documentation” from your ThemeForest’s Downloads section and unzip this archive. Once done enter the “Documentation” folder and open the readme file in your internet browser. Then just follow the instructions.
