I uninstalled every plugin and it was lighting fast, then by process of elimination figured out that it made it very slow – even when it was the only one activated. I tried uninstalling and installing. Obviously it’s central to making the theme look and function properly. Any ideas?

First of all we’re really sorry to hear this :( We have viewed the page and it is extremely slow. We never experienced such low speeds. Neither any of our customers. We think this might be related to your server.

We did some ping tests and it seems it looses lots of packets on the way:

See your server’s data – 77% packet loss and ping 168ms

boldial_greenmm_ping

Our server’s data – 0% packet loss and ping 26ms

boldial_ishyoboy_ping

This means your server takes 168 milliseconds on each request until it starts to answer. If we send 30 requests this makes 5.4 seconds of only waiting for the reply. 77% of packet loss is huge!

If we compare it with our server it would return the answer after 0.78 seconds of waiting which is 6.4 times faster

I think you should talk to your server guys about it as this are bad numbers.

When the assets plugin is turned off the no shortcodes are registered an thus WordPress does not have to process them and this is why it seems faster. I guess resolving the server slowness would solve your problem.
