But when loading on a mobile device, it shows different colors (assuming defaults). It also loads the home page (shows latest posts) at 1/3rd the width of the device (options are set to “Responsive” with 768px to change to mobile). Clicking on a post will show the page at the full width of the device.

Also, it appears to show correctly until the page completely loads then is shrinks to the 1/3rd of the screen. Finally, it almost appears that none of the “Theme Options” settings are being used on the mobile as I have tried changing it to “Fixed” layout and it response the same.

NOTE: I have cleared the mobile browser caches for the mobile devices used to test.

Thanks,

Max

Could you lease provide the URL of the problematic page so we can check what might be causing the problem. Also if you are using a caching plugin please delete the cache and check it again. Regarding the width, there might be some too long word not fitting in the content are so it enlarges it.

Cheers

URL: https://lockmedown.com

No caching issue. I have no cache plugin. I have also tried it on devices that have not accessed before to test local caching.

As far as width, I would expect the theme styling to handle that. If that was the actual reason, this can’t be something that would be required to know ahead of time (i.e. have to formulate my Post titles as not to break my home page width).

If you could please take a look at that site and let me know what is causing both issues.
Thanks so much,

max

Which colors are we talking about exactly that are different in the mobile version? Is it on the main link you provided or in another sub-page?

P.S.: On the complete bottom of the page you have the following code:
<a href="https://plus.google.com/103033301529621082503" rel="publisher">Google+</a>

Also a “smileyface” from the code:
<img id="wpstats" src="https://pixel.wp.com/g.gif?host=lockmedown.com&rand=0.9392313719727099&v=ext&j=1%3A3.1.1&blog=67520121&post=617&tz=0&ref=http%3A//lockmedown.com/" alt="">

These might be causing some layout problems as they are out of the main frame.

Regarding the width – this was just a guess as we had no code to view it. Could you please provide the exact url where the problems occur and specify exactly the parts that are not as they should.

The root url seemed absolutely fine here.

Cheers

I have removed the google plus anchor tag. However, the img with id “wpstats” does not exist. I have used multiple means to locate that unsuccessfully.

To provide more specific information:

When I load up the main root site https://lockmedown.com (this is where the problem exists) on a mobile device (tried at least 2 separate iPhones 4/5) the site loads up with these problems:

– The main header menu is in color blue. However, if you browse to the site on a desktop, you will see that the theme colors have been changed to use orange. The orange was set using the “Theme Options” under “Appearance” on the WP admin panel. I changed the one listed blue to the now orange. There is no other option showing a blue being used. However, the mobile version doesn’t show the orange (as the desktop version does) – it shows a blue (assumed to be the original blue).

– Also, I have checked on an Android device and the site width is correct. But, on the iPhones it comes up with a width of only shy of half the screen.

– Finally, not mentioned before, but the mobile version doesn’t truncate the post as the desktop version for the home page. When landing on https://lockmedown.com it shows all blog post in their entirety.

Hopefully the above clarifies the problem better.

Look forward to your reply.

Max

Thank you very much! Now we see it!

You have a “minieleven” theme activated in your JetPack plugin. Please make sure to activate only the parts that you really need.

E.g.:
https://lockmedown.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/minileven/theme/pub/minileven/style.css?ver=3.9.2

Thank you kindly. That was exactly the problem. I don’t believe I activated that explicitly, so hopefully someone else experiencing the same will find this helpful.
