There must have been some error in the content that made the page builder not recognize it correctly as we just tested the removal functionality and if all content is entered properly nothing remains and everything works as it should.

Could you please let us know on which elements it happened? Are you able to reproduce the problem? And does it happen if you create it in a new page? Have you updated the “code” by hand instead of using the Page Builder? What code or remnants were not removed?

I had to spend about half an hour inspecting the page elements and deleting them manually within the source code to fix the issues.

It’s really weird but we have experienced from time to time similar issues with Visual Composer. Sometimes, usually when the code is copied from “HTML” tab from one page to another, Visual Page builder could break it and render strange things.

The best thing is to Switch to WordPress Editor by clicking “Switch to WordPress Editor” button, delete all the content and start from scratch.
