I’ve been tasked with making a website for a company, and i’d like to know how i can have 1 portfolio grid but with some of the masonry cubes when clicked, either goes to POST or opens up fancybox without going away from the page. I’m posting here as the last resort and although i’m enjoying the theme very well, i see either/or under portfolio options.

This is super important because of the content. The portfolio grid needs to contain works, where some require a separate page to explain project details, whereas other works need to simply pop up a video player with the work (without further explanation).

Unfortunately the way the portfolio works right now can only show either pop-up gallery for each post or link to the page of the portfolio. The problem is that it is for all elements at once.

The only way to make it work is to modify the portfolio template and then add an option in the back-end to set the behavior for each item separately. This requires knowledge of WordPress and PHP can take some time to manage.

You can enable the standard custom fields in Portfolio and use them to get the information in the template for outputting:
