In the preferences WordPress>Reading>Pages show “5” posts, I changed that in “8” and it was solved.
Strange though….

Under Theme Options there is a global setting under the “Portfolio Options” tab called “Items per page”. Also every shortcode can override it. This setting is meant mainly for the “Portfolio” page and the detail of each Portfolio Category, etc..
