Portfolio issues.

Sorry to request help again so soon. I have 3 different pages of portfolio work on my website. I have client work, personal art, and university assignments.

My problem is, that I cannot use the block feature on more than one of these different pages.
If I try to, then the portfolio images from the other pages show up on the new one.

This is very frustrating as I am trying to keep the theme consistent throughout the website. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening so each page has its own set of blocks and items separate from the other two pages?

Hi Lammoi, not a problem we are here for you :)

If we understand correctly you are trying to have 3 different portfolios and each one should display different portfolio items. This can be simply achieved by creating 3 root categories which will represent your 3 portfolios. Then when you define portfolio shortcode on each of 3 pages just specify different category for each one.

Of course you can create sub-categories so each of your portfolio can have its own sub-categories.

Thank you IshyoBoy, I am fairly new at this coding – only 2nd year Uni student. I am unsure how to create the root categories. Do you mind explaining please? Everything else on the site is awesome. This is the very last issue. Thank you so much.

Hi there, don’t worry ;)

when you create portfolio item you can assign it to the “Category”. It’s on the right side next to the main shortcode area. You can assign it to the new or existing one. You can have main category and then each category can contain subcategories.

3 categories with their own (sub-categories)

For detailed explanation of how categories work in WordPress please refer to this link.

After that in the portfolio shortcode you simply specify which category to display.

If you use our on-click demo data import you should see real content which is make exactly that way. So you can take it as an inspiration.
