After activating my new theme, I noticed that none of my old portfolio items (that display when my old theme is activated) show up under the portfolio category in the wp admin when I activate my new Multicorp theme. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

Could you please let us know which theme you’ve been using before? We’re suppose that you’re trying to switch to Multicorp theme now.

If you’ve been using theme from another author it’s very probable that portfolio were made different way. The portfolio is not a standard functionality of WordPress and it’s always made as “Custom Post Type”. It means that each author and each theme works different way with it and it means that in the 99% of case portfolio items are not compatible through different themes.

The easiest but most time consuming way is to create those new portfolio items from scratch with our Multicorp theme and then simply copy -> paste content from your old portfolio items to these new ones.

A little bummed to hear I am going to have to recreate everything, but it makes sense as to why.

Just crossing my fingers that if I use the same image links from my old portfolio that it won’t ding me too bad SEO wise. Here’s to hoping!
