Portfolio Items – Use Taglines on overview page & change font size

Hey There –

On the individual portfolio posts, it gives you the option to check ‘show custom taglines’ so that when I hover over a portfolio item, the custom text can be read.

Even when I click on the option to ‘show custom taglines’ what appears is actually the name of the post AND the category. I want to how how to make sure the custom text is shown, and how to remove the category title (in the case of the below link, ‘photos’).

Lastly – How can I control the font size of these taglines.

1. Taglines

The “Show custom Taglines” is used for the “Title/Taglines Area” when viewing the detail of a portfolio item. So it will not show up on the portfolio overview page.

To make this you would need to change it programatically in PHP in the portfolio element template.

This is a guide on how to override a page element which you can use to override “ish_portfolio.php” file and then change the code inside:

2. Portfolio Category

On the provided page, you’ve used a portfolio page element. Please edit its options and choose not to display the category ;)

3. Taglines font size

You can use the “Custom CSS” field available under “Theme Options -> General Options” and add any CSS to target specific elements on page. Then just change the “font-size” css property.

For the taglines – could you tell me what they are currently set at and what css property I need to change specifically for the taglines on the portfolio page?

Hi again,

to change font-size of title of the portfolio displayed on portfolio overview page you can do it with this short snippet:

.ish-sc_portfolio .ish-p-col a .ish-p-overlay div .ish-p-title {
  font-size: 30px !important;
}

.ish-sc_portfolio .ish-p-col a .ish-p-overlay div .ish-p-title {

font-size: 30px !important;

}

It will do the trick ;)
