The image icon and content description are stretched and hesitate for a second before the next image will appear in the slide. It will happen on every portfolio section. I have upgraded WordPress, so I am concerned that it might be an upgrade issue.

If this is not the link, please provide the url of the exact place where we can see the problem.

Secondly, what browser are you using? Have you tried clearing the cache?

The only problem we currently see is that the images used are quite heavy and this makes their loading slower.

Unfortunately this is the behavior of the “FlexSlider” that is used to create the slideshow. You might check the classes attached E.g. “.slides” or “.slides > div” and add some custom CSS using the “Custom CSS Styles” field in the theme settings to tweak it.

Maybe try to hide (display: none) all images except the first using the “.slides > div” and “.slides > div:first-child” before the slider is initiated..
