you have two possibilities to solve your problem:

1. Too many of your images have width around 800px or 1024px. You can optimize this images for your blog overview page to width 540px.

2. You can use paginagion for your blog overview page and don’t display all posts on one page.
This is classic WP functionality and you can set it here:
“Settings -> Reading -> Blog pages show at most”
