Recent Blog Posts and Portfolio Settings Not Loading in Page Builder

I’ve put the portfolio and recent blog posts sections from the page builder into my pages, and pressed the edit button, whereupon a blank window opens with only options to save or close. Occasionally the page builder loader shows for a split second then disappears leaving behind only whitespace. I’ve tried it on both Chrome and IE.

Any ideas?

Hey,

Seems like there is some bug. Maybe a third-party plugin breaking the back-end JavaScrip. Do you have any JavaScript errors when you check Chrome’s Developer Tools? Does it happen only on portfolio and recent posts?

I don’t have Chrome’s developer tools so I’ll look into getting that – cheers! I’m just a self-starter doing my own website rather than a designer.

I’ve fudged a solution by going through the WordPress Editor rather than visual builder and experimenting with the CSS values until it comes out with most of what I want – for the blog anyway, trying to Portfolio now. I’ll post again if I can’t get it to work.

Hey,

The Developer Tools are available by default in Chrome Browser – Menu -> More Tools -> Developer Tools.

They are really a helpful tool when tracking problems or just want to see page code and CSS styles. You can see a screen shot in this article about an old theme:

Inspect Element to make CSS changes using Custom CSS or in Child Theme

In any case, using the Page Builder should work seamlessly. Maybe try deactivating all plugins to ensure none of them generates errors.

If it doesn’t help, re-installing the Theme and the Plugin might help as sometimes if they were uploaded via FTP, not all files get uploaded correctly and they generate errors.
