Related Portfolio include current Item

Hi all,

I’d like to point out the fact that it is not currently possible to create a great Related Portfolio Items blocks because there is no option too exclude the current post from the query.

I explain myself :
– I’ve create a portfolio item template with VC
– I’ve included a final row with the Portfolio elements (4 columns, 4 items)
– When viewing a portfolio item, the first item in this elements is the current Post…

I suppose there are two quick ways to solve this issue :
1 – Include a new option in the Portfolio Elements to Exluce Posts based on IDs
2 – Automatically exclude the current post in the shortcode if it is a singular Portfolio Item

Hi there,

Currently there is no option like that but it could be changed by overriding the portfolio shortcode template.

We’ll consider to add this option to the next update as it is quite logic and good to have it ;)

Vlad here. Excluding the current item automatically seems quite logical for us and it’s a good idea. It will be part of the next update.

You can do the change manually by changing the query in the shortcode template:

Original code:

// Get all Portfolio posts

We’re sure you know how to override the “ish_portfolio” shortcode, but for other users here is a guide (originally for the recent_posts element, but the steps for the portfolio are analogical)
