Although I set some products to ‘specially selected related products’ the single product page is still showing random products instead of the ones i set up. Maybe I should change something in the code of ‘related.php’ in my child theme?

No idea how to do that so I set the related products on ‘don’t show’ for the time being until I have enough time to find that out.

Maybe try to go through all WooCommerce Settings and play with them as I think this is a settings thing. If you are not using any 3rd party plugins which might change the behaviour then it must be related to the “General” settings and the current product settings.
