I just bought this theme and I LOVE IT. I’m trying to create a page that is fairly blank to use as my landing page. It’ll have three buttons on it that takes you to the meat of my site, but I don’t want there to be a header, footer, or navigation on it.

Is this possible?

First of all welcome in our Boldial positive group ;) We’re very glad you LOVE :) Boldial. We love to receive such feedback!

To create this page we recommend using a Child Theme. We have provided a starter one to make it easier for you. Now the idea is the following:

You need to create a Template file that you can then attach to any existing page. It needs to be in the root of your child theme which needs to be activated for the template to work. To read more about WordPress Templates follow this link:

Now that you have the file with the required template comment on the top you need to create its content. The content should be the same as in the “page.php” file.

However you need to manually replace the “get_header();” function which is in it, with the contents of “header.php” file.

The same goes for the function “get_footer();”. It needs to be replaced by the contents of “footer.php”.

Now that you have the complete file, if you attach it to a page as explained in the info about WordPress Templates, it should do absolutely the same thing as before.

Now you need to remove the part-header, part-expandable, part-footer and part-footer-legals and etc. from it. Basically adjust it as you wish.

If necessary add some custom CSS in the “child-theme.css” file to better style all the final page.

That sounds complicated… but do-able!

Also, I think I might be missing some documentation. I followed all directions on the html page that has information on set up and such, but I’m looking for more. For example, I didn’t know what global access was. (i figured it out though!) but where do I find info on the customizable shortcodes associated with that global access?

Also, confused about how to get my social icons up like you have in your example page.

What exactly do you mean by global access? Unfortunately we don’t understand it.

Regarding the icons in the sidebar. They are located under Theme Options -> General Options -> Social icons. But you are right we should add a mention about them in our documentation.

Thanks for the info. I meant Global Attributes, not Access. Sorry! But I greatly appreciate all the info. I’m SO happy with your documentation, and site. I had an X theme, and it was far too complicated. You guys are AWESOME.
