I installed the theme and the XML test data. I find the site loading time a bit dissapointing…

If i compare the load time with the minicorp example:

It says: Your website is faster than 46% of all tested websites

But when i check my own website:

https://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/b9JLXi/https://nieuw.rijschooldenk.nl/
It says: Your website is slower than 86% of all tested websites

Do you have a solution for this or can you give reasons why my page loads this slow?

To optimize the speed of your server you can use a caching plugin. We’re using WP Total Cache but it’s up to you to choose the one that fits you needs best.

Is your current website built on WordPress? What theme are you using? May you please post the link so we can check?

Unfortunately WordPress itself loads a lot of files and using a premium theme that is not built especially for your site, but instead gives you the opportunity to fine-tune every single aspect of it and create many combinations comes with a speed cost. The theme itself is optimized to work fast but there is a further step needed. Therefore using a plugin which would optimize the essential things is a must if you are concerned about speed.
