Please help me restore to how it should be, the large gaps and content spread all over the place just happened for no reason, I just editing some text and an image, previewed the page and it was all wrong and weird.

I can’t see anything in the code to indicate this issue. I can send the page code but its super long so not sure you’d want it posted here.

Look forward to the answer

Check your style.css I think is the following line that is causing the problem:

[class*=”lined”] {
display: table;
width: 100%;
/* height: 100%; */ comment this line
white-space: nowrap;
}

WordPress, theme, plugins …

The fix from Primetel works perfect (thanks a lot Primetel), although we cannot simulate the same problem on our testing environment, so we cannot determined cause of the problem to avoid it in the future.

Please let us know

Please check the source-code of your page. There is a very very strange part of code in its beginning:

and first then the whole code begins. Not sure how this is added but it is similar to “nasty malware” (virus) practices as the code adds javascript functionality but it tries to hide the code. This might be a false alert but try to disable the plugins you have added lately. Check the files etc..

This is the cause of the whole page being broken.

Cheers

Do you have any news on the possibly infected files? Did you find the cause?

Cheers

Not had any indication on the issue though, and not added new plugins since the updates. The fix from the other user Im not sure how to actually implement that so some pointers would be cool to see if that helps. Also not sure where to go to edit the source-code or view the image you posted above. How can that be edited or fixed?

I guess the update helped. All seems to be working fine. The mentioned “nasty” code is gone now.

Cheers

The 1&1 server got hacked on the weekend and had a knock effect to the site so maybe it was due to that. What good security procedures are there to protect the site? Security plugins?

Thanks

P

Well, Yes.. The code we mentioned was definitely very suspicious and it was the source of the design problems.

Unfortunately there is no defense and steps you could do if your hosting provider gets hacked :( They should do their job better.. Maybe think about switching the provider.

If you have a solid hosting provider like BlueHost for example then what you could do on your side is to use some security plugins like “Better Security”, etc..

Cheers
