Social Share Bar doesn't work

Hi there –

I tried using the Social Share Bar;
but it doesn’t seem to be working.

I have implemented it using the Visual Composer, right below the cover (with the Earth and the sign-up box). On the right in the ‘Medleys of Mind’ section: https://www.mindmedley.com/

However, it’s not working.
Can you see what’s wrong?

There might be a problem between SmartLayers Plugin and the sharing code.

Hmm.

I’m trying to implement the AddThis Follow Buttons, not necessarily the Share Buttons,
for that matter.

I’ve tried the approach of the link you mentioned, but unfortunately it didn’t work.
What should I choose in the Visual Composer? The HTML option to put the AddThis code?

Hey,

You can enter the code you need into the “Social Sharing Code” field available under Theme Options -> General Options where the addThis code is. The theme only outputs this field. Just ensure all is set correctly and there is no interference with the SmartLayers Plugin.

Hey!

I understand. But what I’m looking for is to implement the AddThis Follow Buttons in a row section on a page. So on a specific part.

Is there a way to implement them using the Visual Composer?
I already put the Social Sharing Code in the General Options field.

Hey,

The steps are the following:

1. Add the code from the AddThis website into the “Social Sharing Code” field available under Theme Options -> General Options

2. Use the “Social Share Bar” element from Visual Composer and put it where you want the buttons to be displayed.

3. Since there might be a problem with the SmartLayers plugin, try to deactivate it and see if the buttons are not working.

Once done please provide a link to a page where we can see it implemented.

Thank you. I’ve done all of the above and don’t have SmartLayers installed as far as I know.
You can see the page here: MindMedley.com. The Social Share Bar should appear right to the ‘Medleys of Mind, Exploring the Big Picture’ text below the Earth-cover.

I guess the code that was entered generates these icons:

At first I though they are generated by the SmartLayers Plugin but I guess they are generated by the code that is used. Could you please double-check your code?

yes, the code generates those icons.
But is it possible to ALSO have the buttons at the place I mentioned?

The social share bar is meant for icons inside the content, not like it is used right now. Maybe try to use an AddThis plugin for the side icons and the page element for the ones in the content.
