Switching Portfolio links to Blog links

Hi,

On my home page under “YHM Blog” I want to switch the Portfolio images/links to Blog images/links. I like how those links open to a pop up window and everything…I just want to switch out whats there with my Blog posts. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

Hey,

Hey to manage this you would need PHP coding skills. You need to edit the template for the “portfolio” shortcode and change it’s code not to read “portfolio-post” post type but blog one and ensure everything else works as expected. Unfortunately this work needs to be done by you as it is customisation of the code.

It can be edited in the following file:
wp-content/themes/minicorp/assets/framework/wp/shortcodes/shortcodes.php

And mainly line 1417:

// PORTFOLIO
if ( !function_exists('ishyoboy_shortcode_portfolio') ) {
	function ishyoboy_shortcode_portfolio($atts, $content=null){
		...
	}
}

// PORTFOLIO

if ( !function_exists('ishyoboy_shortcode_portfolio') ) {

function ishyoboy_shortcode_portfolio($atts, $content=null){

...

}

We suggest making the modification by overriding the mentioned function only (not the whole file) in a child theme so you can still receive future theme updates without problem.

I definitely don’t have the capabilities to do PHP…I’ll play around with this and see what I can come up with that’s more within my capabilities. Thanks.
