the “Read More” tag in WordPress is meant for overview pages (list of all articles), not for the detail of the post itself.

The rest of the post continues, but when viewed on the non-single/non-permalink web page such as archives, categories, front page, and searches, the post is shown as an excerpt to the more point.

In our theme we’re using the “the_excerpt” function which cuts the text automatically or lets you put any text in the “Excerpt” field in the back-end.

If you need to achieve similar functionality in accordion, it requires customisation of code and testing and thus it is not part of the free support.
