When I am on certain pages within the site. The top Navigation is not highlighted at all to indicate that the page I am on is from this section.

Please can you show/ tell me how to fix this issue, so pages within sections (tabs on top nav) get highlighted.

Please got to Theme Options and set the navigation behaviour to be “One Page”. It will then start to highlight the items if you use the absolute path in the navigation which is identical with the one use see in the URL bar when you are viewing it with the hash of the section at the end of course.
