how can i translate only the front end of the website, i mean only what the visitors see?

Hey,

You can use the WPML Plugin and its String Translation Plugin to choose only the necessary parts. Another option would be to do this using the PO/MO files directly which is the option which will not slow WordPress.

We do provide these files both for the theme and the assets plugin but the strings in them are not divided for front-end and back-end so you will have to manually find the strings you need to have translated.

There aren’t many front-end strings so it will go quite quickly.

Thanks for your help.. this is working but i have one question:
I need to change the names of the buttons too -in the blog-, like READ MORE, OLDER ARTICLE, NEWER ARTICLE.. Where i found this for change?

Hey there,

for translation front end and mentioned buttons you need to open and edit PO file which are already created and stored in Boldial theme in “language” folder.

All the texts are stored in the file “en_US.po”. You need to duplicate it, rename it to the language you want and then use POEdit to edit that file and translate strings.

I did what you suggested, checked with Loco Translation plugin and qtranslate-x, nothing helps. I have Russian .mo and .po file in All language folders (child and main), Russian is set in WordPress, but still all strings are in English.

Could you please help?

Hi,

All our themes are perfectly compatible with the WPML Plugin. Even the back-end theme options are per-language.

Regarding the PO/MO files.. Have you translated both the “Boldial Theme” and the “IshYoBoy Boldial Assets” Plugin language files?

Yeah, I did put the Russian version everywhere. I tried translating some parts for Boldial Assets, but still it hasn’t changed much.

Hey,

When we access the file:
https://mrbinary.ru/wp-content/themes/boldial/language/ru_RU.po

We see this is not the Theme language file but the general WordPress file. Have you manually translated all necessary strings within the po/mo files that came with the theme in the “language” located in the root of the theme?

OH, I thought it is already translated as I found ru_RU.po file somewhere in language folders, looked the theme one to me.

Will translate and let you know!

Glad all is working fine. Just make sure to back up all the language files in case you update the theme and overwrite them.
