I guess we’re not on the same page here :) Are you trying to translate some static texts within the minicart like “checkout”, “view cart” or the names of the products which are in the cart?

Only the static texts can be translated using the PO/MO files.

Also my minicart do you mean the cart which is built in the theme and controlled via theme options and displayed in the header bar or a different one?

This is really strange as all strings are translatable. E.g.:

'<span>' . __('View Cart', 'ishyoboy') . '</span>';

As you can see the textdomain is the one used within the whole theme.. Are the strings available in the PO/MO files?

Are you re-defining the domain via child theme? Maybe check the PO/MO files in there if they are not overriding the ones you are using.

Can’t really say as we see no reason for it not to work.

Using code style localization plugin but it doesn’t matter as its doing the same thing. They are the only strings which don’t work for translation for some reason.
