Can this be done and still allow the images added to be responsive?

So far i have only managed to add the image by using a content break and replacing the pattern url with the image url, but its not reponsive.

Yes it is possible, however you will have to add some custom CSS to accomplish it. We see you’re using unboxed layout so you can try the following. Create a page break

[page_break css_class="my-fullwidth-image-section"][/page_break]

And insert the image in a big enough resolution in it using the “Add Media” button. Please notice, we have added a “css_class” attribute to it (css_class=”my-fullwidth-image-section”). This class can be used to add the necessary styles and whenever you need a section like this you can just add the same class to it.

To make the section work as you wish please add the following styles into the “Custom CSS” field under Theme Options -> General Options.

P.S. The same can be done using content break instead of Page break and so:

You can play with the styles or with this approach to further customize it.
