Because my theme started to go weird, got random whitespaces, some menu options changed the position, I decided to update Boldial theme.

I did everything by your manual, but after STEP 3 I had a blank page in front of me and couldn’t even access my website. It is still in such state, as I am not a IT geek, I can’t really solve it problem.

Maybe you could help me?

Are you able to access the back-end? If Yes, please remove the old “ishyoboy-boldial-assets” plugin. If not, please access the plugins folder via FTP and delete the “ishyoboy-boldial-assets” folder manually. This should stop the error and you should be able to continue with the update.

I think I’ve updated everything now and seems to work. I had an issue with the menu, it said: “NO MENU SET UNDER “APPEARANCE -> MENUS””. So I did it, no idea why it wasn’t set.

Is there any chance you could check if there are no errors anymore?

1. Regarding the icons. Have you added them using a child theme or directly into the plugin? If directly in the plugin then they were removed. Please add them using a child theme which is the update safe way. It will be a good idea if you put them in your own folder.

To add your own SVG icons add them in a folder inside “ish-plugins/ishyoboy-shortcodes/assets/frontend/images/icon-sets/” in the child theme root.

2. Regarding the admin area. Have you followed each step of the update process?

Re-save all Theme Options & Empty Web Browser’s cahe memory.
1. This step is very !important. Navigate to “Appearance -> Theme Options” and hit the “Save All Changes” button in the right top corner. If you have a multilingual setup, please do this step for each language.

2. Now make sure to clear your browser’s cache memory, so that the latest JavaScript and CSS Style files will be loaded. You can check an online guide on how to do it, based on your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer…) – How to Clear Your Browser’s Cache.

Ignoring this steps might lead to unnecessary problems and complications.

Please go through all new options inside “Appearance -> Theme Options” and modify them to your needs.

Make all your SVG files in 1:1 ratio, meaning height and width should be the same. This way, they won’t be stretched anywhere.
