you mean with “white space between the header and the page content” probably the “Taglines area”.

The Taglines area displays the post title and Taglines if they are set. This can be controlled per post. To hide it on a single post just follow this guide:

could you please check if also fields “Main Tagline” and “Sub Tagline” in section “Custom Taglines” are empty? Without any space!
